Theatre Hall

Gastronomy: József Révész had been the chef of the Hungarian Parliament since 1990 for 13 years. During these years, he prepared the masterpieces served at the most prestigious state protocol events. The gourmet courses served to all monarchs and heads of states and governments visiting Hungary had been prepared under his supervision, including Queen Elizabeth II of England, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, King Juan Carlos I of Spain and Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin the King of Malaysia. With more than 100 presidential and innumerable ministerial receptions, he deservedly won the honorary title of the "Chef of Kings".

The outstanding professional work of József Révész was awarded at the 2000 Olympics by bronze medal and at the world championship for chefs held in Luxembourg in 2002, he won silver medal. The Hungarian National Gastronomy Association presented the most prestigious József Venesz award to Mr. Révész in recognition of his work of several decades, the various prizes won at national and international competitions, his efforts made to cultivate our national traditions and his and contribution to improving the reputation of the Hungarian gastronomy.


Theatre Hall: Folk danse ensembles deliver performances specially choreographed for the Borkatakomba, in the accompainement of József Balázs's 5-member orchestra in the centre of the restaurant called Theatre Hall. The folk show start 20.30 p.m. every day.

Knight Hall: You can admire the special barrel heads, precious pieces of an excellent collection from Budafok on the walls of this Hall, which function as a private room for family and corporate events.

Inn Hall: This area recalls the atmosphere of former Hungarian inns, allowing you to get a taste of how they enjoyed themselves in by-gone times, and to show how you can enjoy yourself today. That can be the ideal place for small family and corporate events.

Barrel Hall: It is as if we would take a close-up look at the treasures of winery and history … and in fact we can, because we can take our dinner inside of giant original barrels by candlelight …
