The hotel - with its style reminding us of the beginning of the last century is situated within striking-distance from the Gyula Castle and just 200 metres from the Várfürdő (Castle Spa) - can be a real oasis for both business guests as well as those longing for some relaxation.

History of the hotel: One of the buildings of our palace-like hotel was built by the Almásy family in 1905. The other one was opened 30 years later in 1934. This part housed the Erzsébet hospice, which – as they say -, was named after Queen Elisabeth, who was regularly a guest at the Almásy family. The name of the hotel preserves this memory as well.

There are 49 rooms in the hotel, due to its location, most of them have a panoramic view of the castle, while the rest overlook the quiet street lined with chestnut trees. All rooms are spacious, well-equipped and stylishly appointed, with an air conditioning system of their own, ensuring that the guests enjoy a comfortable stay. All rooms feature a telephone, a mini bar, a room safe and an LCD TV. The bathrooms have either a bathtub or a shower, and are equipped with a hair dryer. Free WI-FI is available in the hotel. The hotel has a wheelchair access, two of the rooms can accommodate guests with disabilities, however the wellness section unfortunately is not accessible for disabled guests. For families arriving with young children cots, baby bath are available on request, as well as a high chair in the restaurant.

Superior double or twin rooms: The superior double or twin rooms in the Elisabeth Hotel cover 30-35 m², these rooms can accommodate three or four people as there are armchair or sofa beds which fold out into a single or a double bed. Room amenities and services as in the general description.

Mansard suite: The mansard suite in our hotel besides covering a larger size, offers a separate sleeping-area and a living-room. The sofa in the living-room serves as an extra bed, so it can be a perfect choice for families arriving with children.

Elisabeth suite: The Elisabeth suite offers a separate bedroom and a living-room. Guests staying in this suite can enjoy the wonderful panoramic view provided by the enormous windows overlooking the castle. The sofa in the living-room folds out into an extra double bed. In addition to all the standard room amenities, the Elisabeth suite features a DVD-player.

Gastronomy: Culinary delights are provided by the first class restaurant and bar of the hotel, from the terrace of which you can enjoy a sweeping view of the Gyula Castle. The art nouveau style , air conditioned Almásy restaurant situated on the ground floor of the hotel can accommodate as many as 70 guests, with 40 more places on the adjoining terrace overlooking the Castle. The atmosphere of the candle-lit dinners are made even more memorable with the spectacular view. Due to the high standard of restaurant hygiene characterizing our kitchen, the restaurant of our hotel was rewarded the 'White Lily' prize first in the region. The bar bearing the atmosphere of the early 20th century functions as a coffee bar during the day , offering a wide selection of teas and coffees. It can be a perfect venue for relaxing or having a friendly chat. The inside room accommodating 30 people as well as the terrace overlooking the Castle are both at the guests' request. At dawn the café turns into a bar, which with some stylish lights, soft music and the wide choice of the finest drinks will make your stay unforgettable.

Fitness & wellness: In “the Enchanted Garden” - whose name is taken from a fairy tale-, you can find the peace and many forms of relaxation which your body and soul may need after a long, tiring day. Tpa section includes swimming and theme pools, Jacuzzi, steam room, aromatic room, Finnish sauna.

The 50m² big swimming pool in the Enchanted Garden Wellness Centre is equipped with a counter flow system, as well as with some hydro massage adventure elements. Those wishing to regenerate with the underwater jet massages can choose from 3 sitting, 2 lying and 6 standing posts.There is a Jacuzzi at the guests' disposal suitable for 4 people at a time. In the whirlpool you can enjoy the massaging process of the rising compressed air and the water jet coming from the sprinklers at the same time. In the spa centre you can take Kneipp cold footbaths, which imitates as if you were walking in a mountain stream. The 30 °C – hot wet sauna with aromatic evaporation may be a real treat for those not keen on the high temperature of the Finnish sauna, or the humid air in the steamroom. The Finnish sauna is made of Abachi tree and can seat six guests at a time. Don't miss taking a sauna shower as it will make you even more refreshed. The spa centre features a 5-person steam room. In the upright solarium the effect of the sun rays will evoke a happy and refreshing feeling. The walls of the therapic salt cave are covered with salt bricks from the Himalaya, and salt-cats from Parajd. 80 % of the heat conveyed by the red-rays in the infra-sauna is concentrated in the body itself, while it is only 20% in a traditional type sauna. The 30-35°C temperature is more beneficial for the heart, the inhaled air does not burn, and as it deeply diffuses in the epidermis of the skin, it may be even more effective than in a traditional sauna.

Meetings & events:The Elisabeth hotel can be a good venue for company conferences, team meetings, as well as holding lectures. The conference section of the hotel consists of a Ball room and two adjoining smaller session rooms. The halls are equipped with the most up-to-date techniques.

'Szanazug' is a place lying at the junction of two rivers: the Fekete (Black) and Fehér (White) Körös, just 8 kms from Gyula.
